Fishing Artificial Reefs
When I think about fishing Tampa Bay, I think about the miles of backcountry, shallow water flats, oyster bars, creeks, and all other feeding and nursing grounds for Snook, Redfish, Trout and Tarpon. But there are many other species in the deeper part of the bay such as: Grouper, Cobia, Mangrove Snapper, Flounder, Mackerel, and many other species that are fun to catch and a great table fair as well.

Catching Bait
With water reaching the 70 degree mark, bait (Greenbacks) get very plentiful at most bridges and markers. This is a favorite meal for Snook, Redfish, Trout, and every other inshore species, especially in early spring. Being prepared with the right gear, bait and knowledge will help you have a great day on the water.

Summer Fishing
Summer fishing has arrived. Fish are in transition moving from their favorite spring spots in creek mouths, rivers, and back country flats to the passes, swashes along the beach and bridges. This is a great time to target and catch big line siders. The key is timing and preparation!

Tarpon Fishing Action
With the weather starting to finally level out and cold fronts turning mild, the water temperature rises. With warmer water temperature brings big schools of bait. Not far behind the bait are the schools of Tarpon. Preparation is just as important as finding that secret spot when fishing for Tarpon.

Winter Fishing
Tampa Bay is one the best winter fishing areas on the west coast of Florida, miles of backcountry, shallow flats, out flowing river mouths and warm water outflows from the power plants. Fish use these areas in the winter time as a refuge and feeding grounds due to cooling water temperatures in the bay.
