March fishing is some of the best fishing of the year. You can expect to catch multiple game fish all in one outing on the water. From Snook fishing on the Tampa Bay flats fishing, to big schools of Reds tailing on the gin clear water that surrounds the heart of Tampa Bay, you will be in for a great fishing charter experience. If you like light tackle spinning gear on the flats this is definitely the time of year to fish.
Snook fishing is the spotlight this month as they move from the rivers and creeks and onto the flats. They are in search of one thing and that’s food. Our preferred bait this time of year has to be greenbacks. When on a Tampa fishing charter with Capt Jason you can expect a full live well of bait to bring these great fighting fish to the boat. Snook crave this bait as they have been in survival mode throughout the winter months.
Trout fishing is another great fish to catch for March. You can expect to catch a bunch of trout on the outer flats this time of year as they have their spring spawn. Trout are not only a great fighting fish but they are one of my favorites to have for dinner. Trout are similar to Snook but fight is not quite as aggressive as Snook. Tampa offers a ton of things to do besides fishing. We have multiple theme parks including Disney World which is just an hour away. While you are in the area don’t forget to stop by the Florida Aquarium and see some of the same fish you will catch on your charter.
