Redfish Start TO School Up In Tampa Bay

By August 9, 2013No Comments

August is the start of  some of the best Redfishing of the year as big schools of fish start to make there way into Tampa Bay and its surrounding flats. Reds typically range in size from 22 to 40 inches and this time of year you can expect to catch the bigger breeder fish as they move to shallow water. The size of schools can range from 10 to 300 fish and when you find these schools this time of year they are ready to eat. Tampa Bay offers a variety of gamefish to target but I would have to say that Redfish is one of my favorite fish to catch, from young kids to adults its a lot of fun to catch Reds. Since we are fishing shallow water I typically use light spinning tackle so it makes for a great fight. When booking your next fishing  remember that all fishing license and tackle is included which make for a great stress free vacation.  While fishing should be number one  on your list for things to do, Tampa and St Petersburg offer a lot of activities and events as well. While your in town check out the Brews and Bites Food Truck Rally offering great food and entertainment. This event will be at the Tampa Convention Center  in August among other great things to check out. But most importantly is to book your charter today just shoot us and email to get the details and availability captjasonp@gmail.com or call us at 813-727-9890. Tightlines!
