Tampa Bay has miles of prestine grass flats and back country and these areas have some of the best Trout fishing the west coast has to offer. We have been catching Trout in good numbers and size. The key has been to find a healty flat with good tidal flow. From there simply drift the flat casting at a different area every time to cover more ground. Artificials have been the bait of choice, I have really liked the 4 inch DOA Cal soft pastic baits. Match this with a 1/8 or 1/4 once jig head depending on the water depth. Live shrimp is also another bait that has worked well. I to use shrimp under a popping cork. We have also been catching decent numbers of Redfish on shrimp around the creeks and oyster cars.
